Mr. Barclift is a former Assistant United States Attorney who handled federal civil cases in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama (1989 to 1991) and federal civil cases and prosecution of federal criminal cases in United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (1991 to 2017), specializing primarily in complex drug and white collar fraud cases.
Additionally, Mr. Barclift is a retired Army officer; during his military career in the United States Army Reserve, Lieutenant Colonel Barclift served as a JAG Officer in various duty posts including the 3rd Transportation Brigade, Anniston, Alabama; the 174th Legal Support Organization, Miami and St. Petersburg, Florida; United States Southern Command; Miami, Florida; and the 641st Regional Support Group in St. Petersburg, Florida. During overseas deployments, LTC Barclift, provided JAG services to U.S. Army Fifth Corps, in Wiesbaden and Heidelberg, Germany, as well as U.S. Army Europe at Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Mr. Barclift was assigned to and conducted various administrative investigations during his tenures with both the United States Department of Justice and the United States Department of Defense.
Throughout his military and DOJ careers, which spanned 1987 to 2017, Mr. Barclift has established a network of experienced lawyers in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, among other jurisdictions, with whom he collaborates in providing legal services to persons in those states.
Mr. Barclift received a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the University of North Alabama in 1979 and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of law in 1982.
